Amazon Fire TV Stick 4k, which is considered one of the most popular streaming devices on the market (at least in the US), is getting an upgrade.
The eCommerce giant just announced the launch of Fire TV Stick 4K Max. This power-packed streaming device will officially release on 7th October and is now available for pre-order at $55. The upgraded version is 40% more powerful compared to its predecessor and offers support for Wi-Fi 6 wireless technology. It provides wide support for HDR formats including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio. Deriving power from a new quad-core 1.8GHz processor with 2GB RAM, 4K Max is the fastest video streaming device on the market today.
Pre Order for the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max has already started and will be out for delivery from October 7th.
Interestingly, the Wi-Fi 6 standard is expensive, and the next cheapest device using this standard is the Apple TV 4K which is almost thrice as expensive. Some might argue that this standard is mostly theoretical (at a maximum speed of 9.6 Gbps). However, as we start working with numerous systems in a single household with newer systems needing better technology, it might become necessary soon.
If the Wi-Fi wasn’t a good reason to convince you to upgrade, here’s the rest. The price difference between the new version and its predecessor isn’t much, plus the newer piece would consume 15% less power.
Not only this, but the new FireStick also comes with the latest Alexa Voice Support. Its new features include branded shortcut buttons and Alexa home theater for wireless pairing with the Echo Studio.
