At IFA 2019 in Berlin, Amazon announced the launch of several new Fire TV line of devices. With a wider range of products, the company intends to become the largest suppliers of streaming hardware in the US, Europe, and worldwide.
Fire TV Cube, Nebula Soundbar – Fire TV Edition, new Fire TV Edition Smart TV’s are the latest addition to its repository.
Here, we take a quick look at these devices and how they may change your Fire TV experience.
The New Fire TV Cube
The upcoming 2nd Generation Fire TV Cube offers you everything the 2018 version did, but at a much faster speed. This version of the device features a Hexa-core processor, which is a significant upgrade from the previous model.
While there is little to tell between the new and old models in shape and size, the 2nd Gen Fire TV Cube comes with several other enhancements. The new Local Voice Control executes the most commonly used voice commands much faster as compared to the 2018 version. The upgraded far-field voice recognition enhances the voice-control abilities of the new device.
HDR, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos included in the new device will make your viewing experience better.
The new Fire TV Cube will be released on October 10, 2019. You can pre-order it from Amazon to be one of the first to get your hands on this exciting new gadget.
The upcoming Fire TV Cube is priced at $119.99, the same as its predecessor.
Nebula Soundbar – Fire TV Edition
Amazon also unveiled the new Nebula Soundbar with built-in Fire TV at the IFA 2019 convention. This soundbar comes with integrated subwoofers and offers 2.1 Channel and 4K HDR Support, coupled with BassUp technology for an immersive cinematic experience.
The all-new Alexa voice remote, designed specifically for this Fire TV enabled Nebula Soundbar, lets you control the soundbar functions. The remote also includes IR Profile integration with your TV to allow access to basic TV controls, such as volume and power.
With great sound, the Nebula Soundbar also delivers great picture quality with HDR, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.
If you don’t want to wait until the November 21, 2019 release, you may pre-order Nebular Soundbar – Fire TV Edition from Amazon.
Fire TV Edition Smart TVs
Amazon has partnered with several Smart TV manufacturers to expand its lineup of Fire TV enabled Smart TVs. While there are already some TVs with built-in Fire TV, the options are limited.
In the coming months, there will be tons of other Smart TVs with Fire TV built into them. Most of them will initially be available in Europe, but many will be in the US market too. Amazon and Best Buy together are launching a Fire TV Edition Toshiba 65-inch TV in the US for $599 in October 2019.
Amazon has also partnered with Grundig, the Germany-based TV manufacturer. Together, they will be releasing nearly a dozen Fire TV enabled smart TVs in Austria and Germany. This partnership also results in the very first OLED TVs with built-in Fire TV.
Amazon and Roku go neck and neck in this race. The new Fire TV line of devices is clearly Amazon’s attempt at getting ahead of its competitors. Nevertheless, I am excited at the prospect of having a whole new Fire TV experience. Let’s wait and see how it pans out.
