In this guide, I will show you how to install APKTime on FireStick and Android TV devices, including Google TV Streamer 4K.

Is APKTime Safe and Legal?

I checked the APKTime apk on VirusTotal, and none of the security vendors flagged it as malicious. Here is the screenshot of the scan result.

APKTime appears to be legal because it is only an app store that lets you download apps from third-party sources. However, it also features some unverified streaming services that typically lack the license to distribute content. Streaming through such services may be illegal in your country.

We will sideload APKTime using the Downloader app. You can install the Downloader app from the Amazon Store on FireStick and from the Google PlayStore on Android TV and Google Streamer.

Here are the quick steps for FireStick:

1. Go to Find > Search from the home screen. Search for the Downloader by AFTVNews, then follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

2. Next, go to FireStick Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install Unknown Apps and enable the Downloader app for sideloading.

You will see one of the following options, depending on your Fire OS version:

• Fire OS 7 and newer: Install Unknown Apps → select Downloader and enable it.
• Fire OS 6 and older: Apps from Unknown Sources → turn it On.

3. On the Downloader home screen, select the URL box labeled Enter a URL or Search Term.

4. Type the Downloader code 1312002, or you may also type the URL firesticktricks.com/apktime

5. Click INSTALL when the file finishes downloading. 

6. Now, select DONE. 

7. Choose Delete to delete the APK installation file.

8. Select Delete once more.

How to Use APKTime on FireStick?

Just like Downloader, APKTime must also be enabled for sideloading. Here are the steps to enable APKTime and use it to sideload apps:

Go to FireStick Settings and click My Fire TV.

Click Developer Options.

Click Install Unknown Apps (or turn on Apps from Unknown Sources on some devices).

Click APKTime and enable it.

To access APKtime, click the apps icon on the FireStick home screen.

Click the APKtime icon to open it (you may also create its home screen shortcut for quick access).

APKtime features multiple categories.

You may click a category or use the search function in the top-right corner to find an app by name.

Find the APK you want to install and click the Download button.

First-time users will see this prompt. Click Allow.

Wait for the download to finish.

Click Install.

You will see the “App installed” notification when the APK has been installed.
