In this post, I will show you how to install, set up, and use SO Player on FireStick and Android TV boxes. The steps can be used for all Amazon Fire TV devices, including FireStick Lite, FireStick 4K, and Fire TV Cube. After a brief introduction to SO Player, I will showcase how to install the app.
Instead of purchasing various streaming services such as YouTube TV, ESPN+, Hulu, and more, users are going with IPTV services on FireStick. These IPTV providers offer hundreds of live TV channels, sports content, videos on demand, and more for a fraction of the monthly price. However, you do need an IPTV player to stream the content on FireStick. Among the IPTV players, SO Player should be top on your list. Here’s why.
Most IPTV services don’t offer an IPTV player with the app. Instead, they solely focus on improving streaming quality and content offering. If your preferred IPTV service offers an IPTV player, you should still go with a dedicated IPTV player such as SO player.
Third-party IPTV players such as Flix, TiviMate, and SO offer more features and they are compatible with all the major OS out there. Besides, you can always connect more IPTV services to it.
What Is SO Player?
Many users confuse an IPTV player with an IPTV service/provider. When you install an IPTV player, you don’t get any content with it. You need to rely on dedicated IPTV services to import playlists into the app.
All you need is valid login credentials from your IPTV provider to integrate with the SO Player on FireStick. You can use login ID, password, M3U link, PIN code, and various other methods to integrate an IPTV service with SO Player on FireStick.
First, I will show you how to download and install SO Player on FireStick and then we will move to major SO Player features that you can use during browsing.
Attention, FireStick Users!
Governments and ISPs constantly monitor your online activity, and accessing copyrighted content on your Fire TV Stick could lead to serious trouble. Currently, your IP is visible to everyone. I strongly recommend getting the best FireStick VPN to mask your IP address and securely stream your favorites.
I personally use ExpressVPN, the fastest and most secure VPN available. Not only is it easy to install on any device, it comes with a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee. Plus, if you're not 100% satisfied, you can always get a refund. ExpressVPN is currently also offering a whopping 3 extra months free on their annual plan!

Is SO Player Legal?
There is no direct answer to this question. Let me explain. First, the SO Player app isn’t officially available from the Amazon App Store on FireStick. That alone should raise some red flags for you. After all, there is a reason why Amazon won’t let SO Player in the store.
The app SO Player is perfectly legal to use. The issue occurs when you start integrating IPTV services with the app. The selected IPTV might have unlicensed content. FireStickTricks can’t confirm each content in every region out there.
The latest sports event that you are trying to stream on SO Player through an IPTV provider might be unlicensed. Some other media companies might have the official rights to stream the content in your region.
Besides, it’s not easy to differentiate between licensed content and unlicensed one on SO Player. With your approximate location through an IP address and your browsing history with the ISP provider, you are making yourself vulnerable to troubles in the future.
No matter how many steps you take to verify the authenticity of content, you will eventually end up streaming unlicensed content on FireStick. So what’s the workaround? Invest in a VPN service such as ExpressVPN on FireStick. You may wonder why ExpressVPN and not some other service?
ExpressVPN offers fast connection, airtight security, and has a cross-platform availability. You can sign up for the service with a 30-days of a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. What’s not to like here?
