In this post, we’ll explore two methods you can use to delete apps from FireStick, including Amazon Fire TV Cube, FireStick Lite, New FireStick 4K, and FireStick 4k. First, I’ll explain why you may want to delete apps from your FireStick. Then, I’ll show you the two methods for doing so. Finally, I’ll answer some questions you may have.
Amazon FireStick is proof of how far technology has come. Plugging a FireStick into the HDMI port of a display turns it into a full-fledged entertainment hub. It is a great companion for people who want to watch their entertainment on any screen around them.
On FireStick, you can install apps for Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and any other Android application. Thus, many users download and install tons of applications on their FireSticks. But they regret it later when the storage becomes full, and the device’s performance becomes sluggish.
That’s precisely what I’m going to help you fix. First, let me explain what problems it can solve when you delete apps from your Amazon FireStick.
Attention FireStick Users
Governments and ISPs across the world monitor their users' online activities. If you use third-party streaming apps on your Fire TV Stick, you should always use a good FireStick VPN and hide your identity so your movie-viewing experience doesn’t take a bad turn. Currently, your IP is visible to everyone.
I use ExpressVPN, the fastest and most secure VPN in the industry. It is very easy to install on any device, including Amazon Fire TV Stick. Also, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you don't like their service, you can always ask for a refund. ExpressVPN also has a special deal where you can get 4 months free and save 61% on the 2-year plan.

Why Delete Apps from FireStick?
One of the hottest questions is how to delete apps from FireStick. Here are some reasons users delete apps from their Fire TV Stick.
To Free Up Space for Other Apps
The FireStick has limited storage space. If you install too many apps that you don’t need or use, you may run out of space for apps you really want. Logically, users delete apps that they rarely use so they can install other apps or even make room for an OS update.
To Clear App Data & Cache
Most people don’t clear the data and cache of the apps that they use frequently. Instead, they uninstall and reinstall the apps to clear the cache and data from their FireStick, especially since this process may also fix other technical issues.
To Fix App Malfunctions
Some users also delete and reinstall apps to fix technical issues. Users who constantly experience app crashes and slow processes while using specific apps can usually fix the problems by deleting and reinstalling those apps. If you are facing responsiveness, slowdowns, or crashes in some of your applications, delete and reinstall them to see if they return those applications to their functional state.
To Speed Up their FireStick
Like fixing app malfunctions, uninstalling extra apps can improve the performance of a FireStick. A device loaded with applications works slowly because the operating system has no free space to work properly. When you clear the storage of your Amazon FireStick by deleting apps, you create the space the device needs to operate, which typically results in a performance boost. You may see reduced buffering as well, but buffering can also be caused by a slow internet connection.
To Get Rid of Bloatware
By default, a FireStick is loaded with certain applications, also known as bloatware. Users who aren’t interested in the bloatware may want to remove it to free up space on their devices. Thus, many FireStick users delete the bloatware.
How to Delete Apps from FireStick
Now, on to the main topic: how to delete apps from FireStick. Let’s get started.
I will share two methods. For those who want to delete applications using the advanced method, follow the first method. This method is thorough and ensures that no data from the app is left behind.
Follow the second method to delete apps from your FireStick in the simplest way possible. Depending on the app you’re uninstalling, this method may or may not leave some app data on your device.
Method 1: Delete Applications Via the FireStick Settings Menu
First, we’ll see how to delete applications from your FireStick settings menu. We’ll delete the app cache and data in this menu before uninstalling the app.
1. Select the settings gear on the right side of your screen.
2. Click Applications.
3. Scroll down and open Manage Installed Applications.
4. You’ll see all the applications currently installed on your Fire TV device.
5. Select the app you want to delete. For the sake of demonstration, I’ll select the app AOS TV.
6. After selecting the app to delete, you’ll see some options. First, choose Force stop to close the app if it’s running.
7. Then, scroll down and click Clear cache.
8. Next, click on Clear data.
9. Once again, click OK to confirm deleting the app’s data.
10. Finally, click on Uninstall.
11. Click Uninstall again to confirm the app’s removal from your device.
That’s it. This method ensures the application’s cache and data are deleted from your FireStick and the app itself. You can use the quick method below if you’re not concerned about the app’s cache and data.
Method 2: Delete Apps Via the FireStick App Library
For users who want to delete apps from their FireStick without extra steps, use the following method:
1. Select the three-tile button on the right side of the screen, next to the button for settings.
2. Your device will show your pinned and most-used apps.
Note: If you don’t see the app you want to delete, select the last tile called App Library to view the complete list of your apps.
3. Scroll to the application you want to delete, but don’t select it. Instead, press the options button on your remote, which is the button with three horizontal dashes.
4. A menu will appear on the right side of your screen. Scroll down and select Uninstall.
5. Your FireStick will prompt you to confirm the action. Click Uninstall.
Final Words
This post explained why you should delete apps from FireStick and how to uninstall them. The first method thoroughly deletes apps and any associated data. The second method is simpler but quicker. Have questions or comments? Let us know in the comment section below.
