In this guide, I will introduce you to Silvo Kodi Build for Kodi 18.4 and lower versions including Kodi Krypton 17.6. You will also learn how to install it on various Kodi compatible devices such as Amazon FireStick, Fire TV & Fire TV Cube, Android TV & Boxes, Android Mobiles, Mac & Windows and more.
Silvo Kodi Build from Multibuild Wizard is a relatively new build. It is likely you may not have heard of it yet. I came across this build only recently and found it interesting enough to include it in our list of best Kodi builds.
Silvo is a regular build with regular options. By regular I mean, it covers everything you need for your streaming enjoyment. It has a solid library of preloaded addons. You can watch movies and shows, sports and live TV, Kids related videos, documentaries, and adult content.
Note: Silvo build may not be stable on Kodi Leia on all the platforms. Please let us know how it worked for you through the comments section below.
How to Install Silvo Build on Kodi
The build is installed through the MultiBuild Wizard. As I write this guide, MultiBuild Wizard hosts one Leia Build called Leia Silvo and two Krypton builds namely Krypton Silvo and MetropolisMulti Build. I have divided the installation of the Silvo build into different parts to make it easy for you to understand and follow.
Allow Unknown Sources
If you want to install a third-party build, make sure you have switched on the Unknown Sources in the Kodi settings. Kodi intends to protect your device from malicious plugins by keeping this option disabled. Follow the steps below:
1. Open the Kodi app and open the Settings on the top-left
2. Select and open System settings in Kodi Krytpon or System in Kodi Leia
3. You should see a menu on the left. Click Add-ons
On the right, click the switch next to the item Unknown Sources to turn it ON if it is OFF
4. Click Yes when you see this message.
Kodi warns the users of the potential risks of downloading he third-party plugins. But, you can ignore this message as Multibuild Kodi builds are safe.
Once you do this, you set up Kodi to install the Silvo build. Let’s get going.
Detailed Installation Process for Silvo Kodi Build
Let’s break this installation process into two simple parts as follows:
- In the First Part we install the MultiBuild Wizard from the source
- In the Second Part we install the Silvo Kodi Build from the MultiBuild Wizard
Each part has its own set of steps. I will take you through them now.
PART 1: Installing MultiBuild Wizard
Wizards are utility Kodi addons that are also carry a library of builds. MultiBuild Wizard presently hosts two Kodi builds.
To install the MultiBuild Wizard, follow these steps:
#1: Open the Kodi application on your device and click Settings on the home-screen
#2: Now click File manager from the following set of options
If you are a Kodi Leia user, you will see the File manager option on the top-left
#3: On the next screen, click Add source (either on the left or right, doesn’t matter)
#4: Click <None> on the next window that pops up
#5: Enter the source URL from where you will download the MultiBuild Wizard: http://multibuild.info/mbwiz
Enter the URL carefully. If the path is wrong, Kodi will not install the Wizard
#6: When you are back on this window, you can name the source you just added. You can choose the default mbwiz or pick any other name you like.
I recommend you choose a name that identifies with the source as you will need it a little later in this part
#7: You now want to go back to the Kodi home-screen and click Add-ons
#8: Click the Package Installer (it is the open-box icon on the top left of the following window)
#9: Select Install from zip file
#10: Now go ahead and click the source name that you added a little while back. I am clicking mbwiz, since this is the name I picked
#11: Now click the zip file named plugin.program.mbwiz.zip
#12: Wait for the MultiBuild Wizard to install. It may take 2-3 minutes. You will see the MultiBuild Wizard Add-on installed notification when the installation is finished.
Note: While the wizard is installing, you will not see any activity on the screen. It is happening in the background. Just wait for the notification
#13: You have successfully installed the MultiBuild Wizard on Kodi. You should now see a pop-up displaying the developer notes. Click Dismiss and get rid of this popup
#14: Another popup will appear with some settings. Select any settings you want to enable or simply leave it like that. Click Continue
#15: There’s another popup. It will take you directly to the Build Menu. You can do that. Or, you can go to the build menu from the home-screen of Kodi. I will show you how in the next part.
#16: These popups tend to reappear. Click the same buttons again.
PART 2: Installing the Silvo Kodi Build
This is the part where we install the Silvo Kodi Build from the MultiBuild Wizard. Here is what you need to do:
#1: Go to the Kodi home-screen
#2: Click Add-ons
#3: Click Program add-ons on the left on the next window and open the MultiBuild Wizard from here
#4: Click (MB) Builds on the following window
#5: If you have Kodi 17.6, under the Krypton Builds section, click the Krypton Silvo build
Leia users will select Leia Silvo in the Leia Builds section
#6: Click Fresh Install on the next screen to reset Kodi to default settings before installing the build
Note: While you may also choose Standard Install and try to retain some of your existing data, I strongly recommend that you go with Fresh Install before installing any build. This will make sure the build offers optimal performance.
#7: Click Continue to give your final consent that you are ready to restore Kodi to its default configuration
#8: Wait for the Silvo Kodi build to download.
#9: When the download is finished, the build will install itself.
#10: When the build is installed, the Multi Build Wizard will prompt you to install one of the themes it comes with. You can install the theme later. Let’s get going with the Silvo Kodi build.
Click Cancel Themes
#11: Next, click Force Close to quit the Kodi app. It is important to quit Kodi to finalize the installation
You have successfully installed the Silvo Kodi build from the MultiBuild Kodi Wizard.
Before you start streaming with Kodi Addons / Builds, I would like to warn you that everything you stream on Kodi is visible to your ISP and Government. This means, streaming copyrighted content (free movies, TV shows, Sports) might get you into legal trouble.
Kodi users are strongly advised to connect a VPN while streaming. A VPN for Kodi will bypass ISP throttling, Government Surveillance, and geo-restriction on popular Add-ons. I always connect ExpressVPN on all my streaming devices and I suggest you do the same.
ExpressVPN is the fastest and most secure VPN. It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Meaning, you can use it freely for the first 30-days and if you are not satisfied with the performance (which is highly unlikely), you can ask for the full refund.
NOTE: We do not encourage the violation of the copyright laws. But, what if you end up streaming content from an illegitimate source unintentionally? It is not always easy to tell the difference between a legit and illegal source.
So, before you start streaming on Kodi, here's how to get VPN protection in 3 simple steps.
Step 1: Get the ExpressVPN subscription HERE.
Step 2: Click HERE to download and install the ExpressVPN app on your device.
Step 3: Click the Power icon to connect a VPN server. That's all. Your connection is now secure with the fastest and best VPN for Kodi.
Using the Silvo MultiBuild Kodi Build
Relaunch Kodi like normal to get started with the Silvo Build on Kodi. You will be welcomed with a whole new home-screen. That’s a huge departure from the default Kodi skin.
Please allow a few minutes for the build to update its addons. This is important for the normal functioning of the build.
As is evident, the layout of the build is pretty standard. There is the menu bar with a context-based submenu bar, along the width of the interface.
The build also has all the regular sections on the main menu including Movies, TV Shows, Sports, Live TV, Kids, Adult, etc.
Yes! Kids and Adult sections are the categories on the home-screen. You would want to be careful before giving your kids access to this build.
The build this size is expected to carry a big catalog of preinstalled addons – and it does. You will find all the popularly used addons here such as The Magic Dragon, DeathStar, SportsDevil, World of Wrestling, Numbers, YouTube and the list just goes on.
For its size, the Silvo Kodi build seemed decently fast to me. That’s when I used it on my computer and Android. On FireStick, as I had expected, it was a tad slow. It wasn’t necessarily annoying, but there are faster builds that offer smoother experience on FireStick.
As far as the add-on library goes, I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. It has just about every addon that I use. There are a lot of options for movies and shows. Sports section works well with SportsDevil, Maverick TV, World of Wrestling and WrestleManiac. The live TV section is alright too, but not too great.
The interface of Silvo Kodi build seems rather simple. There aren’t a lot of flashy graphics. Images used as wallpapers do not make the interface look crammed or untidy. The background of the main menu bar doesn’t offer a lot of contrast with its items. Hence, legibility could be a little difficult for some (only slightly). Navigation wise, there is enough fluidity. You can browse to any item you want using the menu bar.
All in all, Silvo Kodi build from MultiBuild Wizard is a good build to try.
