In this tutorial, I will guide you through how to install Kaito Kodi Addon. I used an Amazon Fire TV device in these instructions, but the process is the same on all Kodi-supported devices, such as Fire TV Cube, FireStick Lite, FireStick 4k, NVIDIA SHIELD, Android TV boxes, Windows, Mac, tablets, and smartphones. Kaito works with Kodi 19 Matrix.
What is Kaito?
Kaito is an addon for Kodi that has not been around for a long time. The addon is focused on anime and was released in 2020. Kaito is a third-party Kodi addon and was developed by the same team that produced the famous Seren Kodi addon.
The addon shares quite a few features with Seren, such as its splash screen, item browsing, next-up dialog, and source selection. However, it comes with some functionalities that were not available on Seren, such as an airing anime calendar and a useful skip-intro feature.
Kaito does not host any of the content that is available on the addon. In fact, it is not affiliated with any of the content owners. What the Kodi addon does is search websites for anime and scrape links which it offers to users.
You should note that Kaito is still in its beta stage. To get the most out of this addon, you should use Real-Debrid, Premiumize, and/or AllDebrid. These are online services that offer users access to websites that are usually restricted and host shows, movies, and anime. Of these multi-hoster services, Real-Debrid is the most popular.
Attention, Kodi Users!
Kodi Addons and builds offer unlimited streaming content, but could also get you into legal trouble if caught streaming free movies, TV shows, or sports. Currently, your IP is visible to everyone. Kodi users are strongly advised to always connect to a VPN while streaming online. A good Kodi VPN hides your identity, bypasses government surveillance, geo-blocked content, and ISP throttling (which also helps in buffer-free streaming).
I personally use ExpressVPN, which is the fastest and most secure VPN. It is very easy to install on any device including Amazon FireStick. You get 3 months free and save 49% on its annual plans. Also, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, you can always ask for a refund.

Is Kaito Kodi Addon Safe and Legal?
The Virus Total did not show anything harmful about the Kaito addon. Here is the antivirus scan result:
Kaito isn’t available in the official Kodi repository, which makes this difficult to answer. FireStickTricks.com can’t verify if the addon is legal to use because it depends largely on the content you stream.
Kaito collects streaming links from other sites that host the content. It may or may not be legal to stream that content depending on the copyrights and licenses that the sources own for your region. It’s nearly impossible to distinguish between legal and illegal links with complete accuracy. Since your government and ISP are aware of what you stream, you could end up in legal trouble in the future if you’re not careful.
How to Install Kaito Kodi Addon
I will demonstrate how to install the Kaito addon using a FireStick. The steps I will use are the same on other Kodi-supported devices. First, we have to enable unknown sources in Kodi. Then we can add the source containing Kaito, download that source, and finally install the Kaito addon.
Let’s begin.

The page contains some unverified services, and we are not certain whether they hold legal licenses to distribute the content. FireStickTricks.com does not verify the legality of each app/service in all regions. Do your due diligence if you use any of the unverified apps/services, and stream only content that is available in the public domain. The end-user shall be solely responsible for the media accessed.
Part 1: Enable Unknown Sources
First, we need to allow Kodi to install Kaito by turning on a setting called “Unknown Sources.” This lets you install third-party addons on your Kodi.
1. On the Kodi home screen, go to Settings, the gear icon near the top-left corner.
2. Select System from the options displayed.
3. Scroll down to the Add-ons tab, then scroll across and find Unknown Sources. Select the setting to toggle it on.
4. When a pop-up warning appears, select Yes.
Part 2: Install SwagOtaku Repo
After you have enabled Unknown Sources, you can move on to installing the third-party SwagOtaku Repo, which contains Kaito.
1. Return to the Kodi home screen by pressing the back button on your FireStick remote (or other device). On the Kodi home screen, select Settings again.
2. Select File manager.
3. Select Add source on either side of the screen.
4. Click <None> on the box that pops up.
5. Type https://swagotaku.github.io/repo/ and double-check that there are no typos.
6. Select OK.
7. Select the box under Enter a name for this media source. In the screen with the virtual keyboard, type Kaito and click OK to confirm the name.
8. Click OK again to finalize the source.
9. Go back to the Kodi home screen and click Add-ons.
10. Select Install from zip file from the list of options.
11. Select Kaito.
12. Select the .zip file and wait as the repo is installed.
Note: If the numbers you see in the file name are different than the ones shown below, it’s because the repository was updated. That’s normal, so don’t worry.
13. When the installation is complete, you will see a SwagOtaku Repo Add-on installed notification. Stay on your current screen for the next step.
Part 3: Install Kaito Kodi Addon
After you have successfully installed the SwagOtaku Repo, you can move on to the final part, which is installing the Kaito addon on Kodi.
1. On the same screen from the last step, select Install from repository.
2. Select SwagOtaku Repo.
3. Select Video add-ons.
4. Select Kaito.
5. Click the Install button in the lower right corner of the screen to initiate the installation process.
6. Select OK when the following prompt is displayed on your screen. These addons are necessary for Kaito to function.
7. After a few seconds, you should see a kaito Add-on installed notification.
Excellent. We’ve successfully installed the Kaito Kodi addon.
Before you start streaming with Kodi Addons or Builds, I would like to warn you that everything you stream on Kodi is visible to your ISP and Government. This means, streaming copyrighted content (free movies, TV shows, live TV, and Sports) might get you into legal trouble.
Thankfully, there is a foolproof way to keep all your streaming activities hidden from your ISP and the Government. All you need is a good VPN for Kodi. A VPN will mask your original IP which is and will help you bypass Online Surveillance, ISP throttling, and content geo-restrictions.
I personally use and recommend ExpressVPN, which is the fastest and most secure VPN. It is compatible with all kinds of streaming apps and devices.
NOTE: We do not encourage the violation of copyright laws. But, what if you end up streaming content from an illegitimate source unintentionally? It is not always easy to tell the difference between a legit and illegal source.
