In this tutorial, you are going to learn how to install CatMouse on FireStick. These instructions work equally well on any Amazon Fire TV line of devices including FireStick 4K and Fire TV Cube. Moreover, the same APK file can be used for Android TV boxes. In fact, except for the interface of FireStick and Android boxes, all the steps remain the same for the installation of the app.
As I write this guide, Cat Mouse is a fairly new app in the streaming world. However, it has already created a lot of ripples. Considered a clone of Terrarium TV, Cat Mouse delivers high-quality on-demand entertainment. First, its content library is huge; there is everything you could ask for and new content is regularly added. Second, it is fetching top-quality streaming links allowing you to stream in up to 1080p resolution.
CatMouse is a lightweight app. That makes it fast. It is also quick to fetch and resolve streaming links. What I like the most is that Cat Mouse is completely ad-free at this time. All in all, it is one incredible option to watch your favorite content. Get it!
Attention FireStick Users: Read before you continue
Governments and ISPs across the world monitor their users' online activities. If found streaming copyrighted content on your Fire TV Stick, you could get into serious trouble. Currently, your IP is visible to everyone. I strongly recommend you to get a good FireStick VPN and hide your identity so that your movie viewing experience doesn’t take a bad turn.
I use ExpressVPN which is the fastest and most secure VPN in the industry. It is very easy to install on any device including Amazon Fire TV Stick. Also, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you don't like their service, you can always ask for a refund. ExpressVPN also has a special deal where you can get 3 months free and save 49% on annual plan.
How to Install CatMouse APK on FireStick
We will use the Downloader app to install Cat Mouse app on FireStick. We will get to that later though. First things first!
Part 1: Enable Apps from Unknown Sources
CatMouse is a third-party app for FireStick because we are not getting it from Amazon Store. We are getting it from an external source. As a prerequisite, we need to enable Apps from Unknown Sources.
Here are the steps:
– Power on the FireStick device. On the home window, navigate to the top where you see the menu options. Select Settings
– When you see the following set of menu items, navigate to the right and click My Fire TV
– Open Developer Options
– Now, we check the status of the option Apps from Unknown Sources. Click it if it is currently OFF and turn it ON
– When you attempt to turn ON this option, FireStick triggers a warning message. Go ahead and click Turn On
Now we are ready to install Cat Mouse APK on FireStick.
Part 2: Installation Steps for Cat Mouse on FireStick
As I said a bit earlier, we will use the Downloader app to install the app. So, here are the steps:
1- The first thing you want to do is get the Downloader app. It is hosted on the Amazon Store.
Go back to the home-screen of your Fire TV Stick device. Navigate to the top menu. Select the lens icon. Now, you simply type the Downloader app and install it using the instructions on the screen.
Note: If you need detailed instructions, we have a guide on how to sideload apps on FireStick
2- Now we open the Downloader app
The main window of the app looks like this. As you can see, there is a text field on the right where it asks you to enter the URL. Click inside this field
3- Now this onscreen keyboard pops up. Use it to type in the following URL: https://www.firesticktricks.com/catmouse
You may simply type the shortened version of the URL: firesticktricks.com/catmouse
4- We now wait until the Downloader app downloads the APK files. It won’t take long
5- Downloader will automatically run the CatMouse APK on FireStick the moment it is installed. Go ahead and click Install when the following prompt is displayed
6- We now wait again for the installation to finish. It should take less than a minute
7- The app is installed when the App installed is displayed. While you may click Open and run CatMouse app on FireStick, I would recommend clicking DONE for now. We will explore the app together a bit later
8- Click Delete so that you may delete the Cat Mouse APK. It is no longer needed and you can free up some space
9- Click Delete again
Great! You have successfully installed CatMouse on Amazon FireStick. Enjoy!

How to access and use Cat Mouse app on FireStick
If you have been using FireStick for a while, you would probably already know how to access your apps. However, if you are new to it, you may want some help with it.
All your apps can be found in the section Your Apps & Channels. This section is available in the second row on the home window of your FireStick. However, on the home window, it only displays 15 apps. If you have more apps than that, you will need to expand this section. Here is how you can do it:
– Highlight Your Apps & Channels row on the home screen of FireStick. Go all the way to the left. Click See All
– Long press the Home key on your Amazon FireStick remote. When the popup is displayed, click Apps
You may now scroll down to the bottom and click the CatMouse app icon
If you want quick access to it, you may even move the app to the home window. Press the Menu button on your remote with three horizontal lines. On the TV popup (bottom right), click Move. Drag and drop CatMouse in one of the three rows on the top.
Let us now explore the app
CatMouse FireStick app needs some permissions. Therefore, when you open it for the first time, permission popup is displayed. Click Allow to get started
If there is a new version, the app may prompt you to download it. You may continue without updating, but I recommend getting the most recent version. So, click Update
Dismiss any prompt that you see next
You are now prompted to choose the default video player. I would say go with MX Player. We have a separate guide on how to install MX Player on FireStick
Note: You can change the default player later in the Settings
Click Proceed on this ‘Welcome’ prompt
You are now finally on the home window of the app. Here is how it looks like:
By default, Cat Mouse FireStick app will display TV Shows on its main window. You may change it later in the Settings.
Let us now click the small, upside-down triangle on the top to bring up the categories (image below). You will find similar categories for Movies as well
You can apply the year filter too. Click the striped, upside-down triangle in the top-right corner
On the home window of this app, you will also find the icon with three horizontal lines in the top-left corner. That is for the main menu. Click it to see the menu options
In the image above, you can see the following menu items: TV Shows, Movies, Favorites, Downloads, TV Calendar, Settings
So, the Menu dropdown lets you toggle between Movies and TV Shows
Let us now click Settings in the menu and open the Settings window:
There are several options in the Settings. Most of them are self-explanatory. There are many you would probably never even need.
This should now help you get started with the app. If you need any specific assistance, feel free to let us know through the comments section below.
