In not-so unsurprising news, Italian authorities claim to have busted one of the world’s biggest pirate streaming networks. The authorities have concluded an investigation into a reseller of pirated IPTV. Along with the 70-year old owner, more than 1,800 IPTV consumers are facing fines and possible court hearings.
In the last few years, Italian authorities have investigated multiple IP crimes and dedicated huge resources to financial crimes.
According to a new announcement from Guardia di Finance (the unit that tracked the pirated IPTV reseller), the accused man was selling unlicensed content from Disney+, DAZN, Mediaset Premium, and Sky. The man was running two IPTV services under the name of TVSStreamingItalia and IPTVPanamaCity.
Over 1,800 IPTV subscribers are facing charges for streaming illegal content on their smart devices. These users have MAC addresses and used direct bank transfers or credit cards to pay for the IPTV service. That has allowed the investigators to identify the customers.
This isn’t the first time we are seeing Italian authorities going hard on IPTV providers. At the start of this year, Italian police ran the huge Operation Blackout to bust a major IPTV network in the country. It took over 200 specialists from 11 departments to bust the whole operation successfully. It effectively closed doors on 80% of Italian IPTV resellers.
Best Practices to Stay Anonymous While Streaming with Free Or Low-Cost Services
FireStickTricks.com doesn’t encourage users to stream unlicensed content on smart devices, including FireStick and Android TV. If you decide to go with a questionable IPTV service, you should pay for the IPTV service via Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Paying the IPTV provider via cryptocurrency is the first step to keeping your identity hidden.
But even after that, you aren’t 100% secure from the authorities. Your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) can see the type of content you are consuming on FireStick. With that and your IP address, the government has a good idea of your location as well.
I have always recommended going with a VPN app such as ExpressVPN on FireStick or any other streaming device, especially when dealing with IPTV services, third-party apps, and Kodi addons.
ExpressVPN allows you to enjoy anonymous browsing on your streaming device with airtight security and fast internet speeds across hundreds of servers around the world.
ExpressVPN isn’t limited to private browsing. The VPN service also allows you to access apps not available in your country, meaning you can access and enjoy Peacock, YouTube TV, Hulu, Disney+, Netflix US, and more, regardless of your current location.
What’s more? ExpressVPN comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with ExpressVPN, you can always ask for a refund with no questions asked.
