In this guide, I will walk you through the installation process of Nanook Kodi addon. This process works on all the Kodi compatible devices such as FireStick or Fire TV, Android smartphones & tablets, Windows PC etc.
Nanook is proving to be a useful addition to my list of Kodi video-addons. At the time when many popular addons are getting shut down, Nanook serves as a great backup. But, if truth be told, Nanook addon for Kodi itself is powerful enough to be your primary source of entertainment. I have explored it through and through and found that its library of movies and TV shows is just as big as any other addon’s (say Neptune Rising or Uranus). I have also found that Nanook is also capable of fetching high-quality, fast streams for all the titles in its collection of content.
I personally recommend giving it a try. I am confident you will enjoy it.
Let us now learn how to install Nanook addon on Kodi.
Configure Kodi to Install Nanook Addon
Kodi has a built-in security setting that prevents the automatic installation of the third-party addons. The addons that are not hosted in the Kodi Addon Repository are called third-party and are considered to be from the Unknown Sources. Here is what you need to change to allow Kodi to install Nanook addon:
#1: When you are on Kodi home screen, click the Settings icon, just under the Kodi log on the top left.
#2: Now, click ‘System settings’ option on the next window. Click ‘Add-ons’ on the left panel and then move the toggle next to ‘Unknown Sources’ to right to enable it
#3: When you see this warning message, click ‘Yes’ to proceed. Please be assured that Nanook Kodi addon is safe. It will cause no harm to your device.
How to Install Nanook Kodi Addon
Now that you have allowed Kodi to add addons from unknown sources, let’s get the Nanook addon now.
This is going to be a three-step process and we will take a look at each one separately. In a nutshell, here is what we are up to next:
- Add the source to install the Zero Tolerance repository from
- Install the Zero Tolerance repository from the added source
- Install Nanook video-addon on Kodi using the Zero Tolerance repo
Step 1: Add the Source
This is fairly straightforward. Here is what we are going to do.
#1. Open Settings menu from the Kodi home-screen. As I already said, it is on the top-left under the Kodi logo. It looks like a gear/cog icon
#2. Click ‘File Manager’ on the next window
#3. Click ‘Add Source’ next (scroll down a bit if you don’t see ‘Add source’. This happens when you have many sources already added to Kodi)
#4. This is the pop-up window you should see next with the title ‘Add file source’. Click the ‘<None>’ option as shown in the image below
#5. On the following window, enter the path http://repozip.zerotolerance.gq
It is important to type in this URL correctly. Typos will lead to installation problems. Click ‘OK’ after typing in the URL
#6. Now add a name for the source in the field labeled ‘Enter a name for this media source’ and click ‘OK’,
I have entered ZeroTolerance as it will help me identify the source easily at a later stage. But, it is completely your choice what name you want to give it.
Here we are! You have successfully added the source. Now what you want to do next is install the Zero Tolerance repo from this source.
Step 2: Install the Zero Tolerance Kodi Repo
This part too is easy. Following are the steps to install the Zero Tolerance repository on Kodi
#1. Return to the home-screen of Kodi and click ‘Add-ons’
#2. Locate the ‘Package Installer’ icon on the top-left of the next screen and click it. This option looks like an open box and even like the Dropbox icon
#3. Now, go ahead and click ‘Install from zip file’
#4. Scroll down and click ‘ZeroTolerance’ (or whatever name you entered while adding the source in Step 1)
#5. Click the Zip file named ‘repository.zt-5.2.zip’. This is the version of the repository at the time of writing this article. If the new version is released, the file name will change and may not end with 5.2 anymore.
#6. Wait for the ‘Zero Tolerance Addon Installed’ notification. It will slide out from the top-right corner of the screen.
So, this is how we install the Zero Tolerance Kodi repository. Now, it’s time to learn how to install Nanook addon on Kodi using this repository.
Step 3: Install Nanook Kodi Addon
This is the final part where we install Nanook. Here are the steps:
#1. Go to Kodi home-screen and navigate to Add-ons > Package Installer > Install from repository
#2. You must now see the Zero Tolerance Repository among the other installed repositories. Open this repository.
#3. Click ‘Video add-ons’ when you see the screen below
#4. Scroll down and little bit and click ‘Nanook’ on the list of the available addons
#5. Now click the ‘Install’ button, which you will find on the bottom right
#6. Now, wait for the ‘Nanoon Add-on installed’ notification to appear on the top-right of the next screen. Installation may take from a minute to a few minutes.
You will also see a checkmark next to ‘Nanook’ once this Kodi addon has been installed.
Well, you are now all set to explore Nanook Kodi addon. All you need to do is return to the Kodi home screen and navigate to Add-ons > Video add-ons
As you can see, Nanook add-on is already there.
Before you start streaming with Kodi Addons / Builds, I would like to warn you that everything you stream on Kodi is visible to your ISP and Government. This means, streaming copyrighted content (free movies, TV shows, Sports) might get you into legal trouble.
Kodi users are strongly advised to connect a VPN while streaming. A VPN for Kodi will bypass ISP throttling, Government Surveillance, and geo-restriction on popular Add-ons. I always connect ExpressVPN on all my streaming devices and I suggest you do the same.
ExpressVPN is the fastest and most secure VPN. It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Meaning, you can use it freely for the first 30-days and if you are not satisfied with the performance (which is highly unlikely), you can ask for the full refund.
NOTE: We do not encourage the violation of the copyright laws. But, what if you end up streaming content from an illegitimate source unintentionally? It is not always easy to tell the difference between a legit and illegal source.
So, before you start streaming on Kodi, here's how to get VPN protection in 3 simple steps.
Step 1: Get the ExpressVPN subscription HERE.
Step 2: Click HERE to download and install the ExpressVPN app on your device.
Step 3: Click the Power icon to connect a VPN server. That's all. Your connection is now secure with the fastest and best VPN for Kodi.
This is how you can easily install Nanook addon for Kodi in just a few minutes. This process should be a hassle-free experience. The only likely issue could be with the server as some sources tend to act up at times. However, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem with the Zero Tolerance source. It has worked really well so far. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, let us know through the comments section below.
