Named after the legendary Jedi character from Star Wars, Yoda Kodi addon has brought itself to the spotlight recently and all for good reasons. Yoda is a fork/variant of the ever-popular Exodus and Covenant video add-ons but it has a touch of newness and difference. What’s self-vouching of its credibility is the fact that it comes straight from the Supremacy repository, which also offers Supremacy Kodi Addon. And we all know how uncompromising this repository can get when it comes to the quality of the addons.
In this guide, we are going to learn how to install Yoda addon on Kodi 17.6 Krypton from the Supremacy repository. This guide will take you through the step by step installation process. What you can expect from Yoda Kodi addon is the wide array of movies, TV shows, latest episodes, live TV channels, documentaries and a lot more. Yoda could be a solid addition to the list of your existing add-ons.
How to Install Yoda Video Addon on Kodi
Yoda is a third-party addon sourced from outside the official Kodi Addon Repository. To allow the installation of third-party add-ons, we need to make some changes to the security settings and enable the Unknown Sources. So, before we get started with the installation process, there is one little thing you need to take care of:
From the Kodi home-screen, go to Settings >> System Settings and select Add-ons option on the left sidebar. Now, highlight Unknown Sources on the right (as shown in the image below) and turn it ON.
When that’s done, you can continue with the installation process of Yoda addon on Kodi. I have broken it down into two parts. Follow each step carefully.
Part 1: Add the Installation Source
We are going to install Yoda Kodi addon over the web. Therefore, you will need to add the server address for Kodi to fetch the installation files from. Here are the quick steps:
Step 1: Make sure you are on the Kodi home screen. Click the Settings icon on the top left of the window. Look for the cog/gear icon just under the Kodi log on the top left.
Step 2: Open the ‘File Manager’ option on the next screen
Step 3: Now click ‘Add source’ option on the next window. If you don’t see ‘Add source’ you may have already added many sources. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and you will find it.
Step 4: Click the ‘<None>’ option and enter the Supremacy repo source URL http://supremacy.org.uk/zip/repo using your remote or keyboard depending on the device on which you are using Kodi. This is the download link for Yoda Kodi addon.
Please be careful while entering this address. It has to be exactly the same or you will not be able to install the Yoda addon on Kodi.
Step 5: Once you entered the source URL, highlight and click the field ‘Enter a name for this media source’ (see the image above). In this field enter the name of the source to your liking. But, choose the name you could easily identify the source at a later stage of the installation process. I will enter the name ‘Supremacy’ for this guide.
Step 6: Click ‘OK’ after entering the name.
Part 2: Install the Supremacy Repository and Yoda Kodi add-on
Once you have added the source, the next thing you want to do is install the Supremacy repository. From this repository, you will install the Yoda video add-on for Kodi.
Step 1: Go back to the Kodi home screen and then click the ‘Add-ons’ option on the left sidebar
Step 2: On the next screen, click the ‘Package Installer’ icon, which is on the top left and just under the Kodi logo. It looks like a Dropbox icon or an open box icon
Step 3: Click ‘Install from zip file’ next
Step 4: Now click the name you gave to the source earlier while adding the source. In our case, it is ‘Supremacy’
Step 5: You should see a zip file named something like ‘repository.supremacy-2.3.zip’. The numbers at the end of the file name depict the version and they may change if the version is updated. Click this file.
Step 6: In a short while you will see a notification ‘Supremacy add-on installed’ on the top left
Step 7: Now click ‘Install from repository’ option on the same window
Step 8: Open the Supremacy repository from the list of the repositories
Step 9: Next, click ‘Video add-ons’
Step 10: Now, scroll down to the bottom and click ‘Yoda’ on the list
Step 11: On the subsequent screen, click the ‘Install’ button on the bottom right
Step 12: Wait for the ‘Yoda add-on installed’ notification to show up on the top right (see the image below). When you see this notification, it means that the Yoda add-on for Kodi has been successfully installed.
Well, this is all you need to do to install Yoda addon on Kodi.
Return to the Kodi home-screen and you might see Yoda listed here. If you have many add-ons installed, you may not find Yoda Kodi addon on the home screen. So, navigate to Add-ons > Video add-ons and open Yoda from there.
Yoda gives you the option to stream movies and TV shows. You will find dozens of them here. I have also noticed that Yoda is a tad faster than some of the popular addons. I hope that it continues the same way in the future.
What’s even better is that Yoda Kodi addon is compatible with Real Debrid. So, if you happen to have a Real Debrid subscription, you will find a number of additional full HD streams and faster streaming.
Conclusion: Yoda Kodi Addon
There’s been a flurry of the Kodi video add-ons in the past few years. Yet, we are always looking for something new and better. Yoda has been upvoted by a lot of Kodi users recently and I see no reason why we shouldn’t explore it.
